Description

Ancient, distinguished and completely magnificent! The Hart's Tongue Fern has the most extraordinary undivided, strap-like fronds that have a wavy, ruffled edge and gorgeous glossy surface - nothing else looks quite like it in the fern world. It's a native British species that's been admired for centuries and at 100mm it's already showing that stately elegance! A genuinely special fern for plant nerds who want something different!

Plant Nerd Tip: Shade to medium, indirect light - this is one of the most shade-tolerant plants you can grow! Keep the soil consistently moist and maintain good humidity. Perfect for darker corners where most plants give up.

    Watering details
Ferns are one of the few indoor plants which dislike drying out completely. They don’t want to be wet and drippy, just damp. Love a foliage mist all over, that’s above and below the foliage.
    Light details
Filtered bright light is best, but can handle lower light than most plants.
    Temperature details
In a household setting, ferns prefer consistent warmth and will quickly show signs of stress if exposed to extreme temperatures. Bathrooms make the ultimate indoor environment because they provide excellent humidity; the steam from a daily shower easily hydrates the thin fronds and counters dry air. However, ensure the room has a window, as ferns cannot survive in total darkness.
    Feeding details
Treat them to a slow-release fertiliser during the warm season. Just sprinkle it on, and it’ll give your fern a perfectly portioned, slow-drip buffet of nutrients over 4 months without overwhelming them. Happy roots, happy fronds. If you are reaching for the liquid fertliser, you must use it at half strength. Think of it as a weak little cup of herbal tea for your fern rather than a double espresso.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How will my plant be delivered?

Your plant will be carefully packaged in our custom eco-friendly packaging. Each plant is secured to prevent movement during transit. Your plant may arrive slightly stressed from the journey — this is completely normal. If your plant looks dry, give it a good drink of water, place it in a well-lit spot (out of direct sunlight), and it will bounce back within a few days.

What if my plant arrives damaged?

We stand behind the quality of every plant we send. If your plant arrives damaged or unhealthy, contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo of the damage. We'll arrange a replacement, refund, or store credit — whichever you prefer. That's our Jungle guarantee.

How do I know which plant is right for my space?

Each product page includes key information about light requirements, care level, size, and whether the plant is pet-friendly. If you're unsure, try our Plant Quiz — answer a few quick questions and we'll recommend the perfect match for your space, lifestyle, and experience level.

How often should I water this plant?

Watering needs vary by plant and are listed in the care instructions on each product page. As a general rule, most indoor plants prefer to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering is the most common mistake — when in doubt, wait a day or two before watering again. Factors like light, temperature, humidity, and pot size will all affect how often your plant needs water.

Is this plant safe for pets?

We label every plant as either Pet Friendly or Not Pet Friendly on the product page. If you have curious cats or dogs, use our Pet Friendly filter to browse only non-toxic varieties.

Does my plant come with a pot?

Plants are shipped in their nursery grow pot. We offer a range of decorative pots and planters separately so you can choose the perfect match for your space.

When should I repot my plant?

Most plants are happy in their nursery pot for at least 6–12 months after purchase. Signs it's time to repot include roots growing out of the drainage holes, water running straight through the soil, or the plant becoming top-heavy. Spring and summer are the best times to repot, as your plant is actively growing.

    Can I return my plant?

Due to the living nature of our products, we don't accept returns on healthy plants. However, our Plant guarantee covers any plants that arrive damaged or unhealthy. See our returns & refund policy for full details.

    Do you ship Australia-wide?

We deliver to metro and regional areas across Queensland, NSW, ACT and Victoria. Shipping times vary by location — check our Shipping & Delivery page for full details.
